Duration and Syllabus Structure

The duration for completing the programme is 6 months. The programme would be delivered through blended mode of learning which would include face to face workshops and on-line sessions by experts.

The online sessions would be delivered through a state of the art online platform; each student would be given login details to access the landing page of the programme where the students can attend the live sessions which would be delivered from the experts. The students can also access and submit the online assignments through their landing page.

The programme would comprise a total of 150 hours of teaching and learning including 3-4 days workshop at the end of the programme.

About the Program

The Certificate in Contractual Dispute Resolution, a blended learning programme is designed to prepare participants with the foundational knowledge and skills to understand and effectively manage contractual agreements. The course assists in developing the skills to identify and avoid the basic problems / issues which may lead to the dispute in the contract and provides the skills to resolve disputes, if arise, through various methods. With a focus on both theory and practice, the curriculum explores a range of topics, including the legal framework of contract management, dispute resolution and best practices. The programme will be pursued in such a manner as to encourage the managerial perspective of contract management and dispute resolution process.

According to various estimates, 20% to 30% of GDP of India is used for Public Procurement. A large portion of this expenditure is utilised for contracts in infrastructure sector. Though an understanding of the contractual responsibilities of a contract should reduce the potential for disputes to arise during the life of a contract, disputes and disagreements still occur.

Therefore, to avoid any minor or major misunderstanding and disputes, it is imperative that contract and project professionals have thorough understanding of contract interpretation, arbitration and conciliation laws, dispute resolution methods, acceptance and implementation of arbitration etc.

The aim of the programme is to impart required knowledge and skills to understand the contracts interpretation and contract management, common disputes in the contracts and methods of alternate dispute resolution.

It also harnesses the abilities to resolve disputes through alternative methods and inculcate planning, conducting and managing arbitration for its effective implementation.

Assessment Structure

Both Formative (during the program) and Summative (end of the program) Assessments are planned. Summative assessment will carry 60% weightage and Formative assessments, will carry 30% weightage. 10% weightage is from either of these components – attending Face 2 Face workshop or by submitting Project Report.

The formative assessment will be evaluated on the basis of the multiple choice questions after every module.

The summative assessment will be in form of the 60 min exam with multiple choice question paper. The pattern for summative assessment is as follows-

  • The exam will be conducted through the landing page developed for individual candidate.
  • The exam will cover all the topics of the module 1 and module 2
  • The candidate requires to answer 40 questions and each question carries one mark
  • The time limit will be 60 min

A: CLASS ROOM MODE

Weekend Programme : 9.00 a.m to 5.00 p.m (Saturday and Sunday). Between August to November and February to May

B: ONLINE CLASS ROOM MODE

Live Sessions: 11.00 a.m – 1.00 p.m ( 2 Saturday )
Recorded Session: 24hour (between March - May & September to November)

Note:- Students opting for the online classroom mode needs to specify Zero (0) center during filling up the center choice.
