Programme Overview & Objectives
Consulting also known as Business Consulting or Management Consulting is a service provided by an individual consultant or professional consulting firms to help their clients and its management to solve complex issues that affect their business or take guidance from them on finding some innovative techniques and ideas to move ahead.
A professional career in Business Consulting is highly in demand and is extremely worthwhile financially as well as professionally. An individual can start his own practice in consulting or can join a consulting firm which can be very exciting.
Who should attend this Programme?
- Employed professionals in Public/Private/MNCs and other Govt. Organizations who are willing to acquire knowledge and skills in consulting
- B-School faculty members who are willing to take up consulting assignments
- Those involved in internal consultancy process for their respective organization
- Those who manage external consultants
- Those who manage their own Consultancy Firm/Start-ups/Businesses etc.
Eligibility
Post-Graduate or equivalent in any discipline from a recognised university Minimum work experience of 5 years is desirable
Duration
The duration of the program is 6 months
Learning Material
The course pack comprising text books, reading materials etc. will be provided to each participant.
Modes of Delivery
The programme will be delivered in Hybrid mode. Each of the Unit I, II and III will have 25 Hrs of Online Live Interactive Sessions to be held during weekends on Saturdays and Sundays. Consulting workshop for 3 days (18 Hrs) will be held in Physical Mode at AIMA, New Delhi. The sessions for 7 Hrs on Writing Consultancy Proposal will be held in online live mode during weekends on Saturdays and Sundays. The total learning Hrs in the entire programme will be 100 Hrs. These sessions will be delivered by the best of the academic and practicing consultants.
Assessment, Grading & Certification
As this is the highly practical course focused on nurturing consulting skills, the pedagogy followed will also be oriented more towards giving the participants hands on experience in consultancy.
The participants would be assessed on the basis of their performance in:
- Comprehensive Examination (Open Book, Situation Based Questions) – 60% Weightage
- Consultancy Proposal (judged on Appeal, Structure, Content, Flow & Relevance of information) - 30% Weightage
- Viva-voce – 10% Weightage.
The participants will be graded on relative letter grading system. Those who obtain minimum B grade in Online Comprehensive Examination as well as in Consultancy Proposal Development and Viva Voce would be declared passed in the ‘Advanced Certificate Programme in Business consulting’ and awarded certificate by ALL INDIA MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION. The participants having successfully completed Phase I of the Programme and awarded with 'Advanced Certificate in Business Consultancy' will meet one of the requirements of Phase II of the Programme leading to be Accredited as Business Consultant by AIMA.

Programme Fees
The Programme Fees for Phase 1 of the Programme i.e. Advance Certificate Programme in Business Consulting is INR 75000/-(including GST@18%) which include cost of Course Learning Material & Examination fees.
The Fees for Phase II i.e. Accredited Business Consultant is INR 59,000/-(including GST@18%)

- The participants may choose any one specialisation from Unit – III. One particular specialisation shall only be offered when there is minimum number of participants (as decided by the Programme Administration Committee from time to time)
- Consulting Workshop
- Unit 4 (Learning Hours - 18)
- A three-day workshop in physical mode to be conducted at AIMA, New Delhi
- Day 1 - Half day each for Basic units
- Day 2 - Half day for Specialisation units
- Day 2 - Half day for panel discussion with clients

PHASE - II : Accredited Business Consultant
- 1. Eligibility Criteria
- (a) AIMA Business Consulting Certificate
- (b) Having delivered two consulting assignments to clients

- (c) VIVA
Those participants who shall meet the aforesaid eligibility criteria and successfully complete the processes enlisted in Phase II of the Programme will be accredited as Business Consultant by AIMA.
